$115/130 (Member/Non-member)

Instructor: Tony Crnkovich

To “build” a head in portrait drawing requires much more than simply copying what you see. And the necessary know-how only comes with definitive knowledge. In this portrait drawing class, students will learn to understand and execute the details involved in capturing facial elements on paper by understanding the principles of hand/eye coordination, gesturing, and shading to achieve the optimal outcome. Students must supply a photo of someone of their choice to draw from.

$115/130 (Member/Non-member)

Instructor: Tony Crnkovich

In this class, students will be helped to understand and execute the basic principles involved in creating tight, realistic colored pencil renderings. The importance of beginning with an accurate drawing will be stressed before proceeding to color, which is applied progressively in layers and blended through burnishing until a painterly result is achieved. Portraits are the main focus, and the various subject matter is open to choice.
Friday
Contour Drawing
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

$115/130 (Member/Non-member)

Instructor: Tony Crnkovich

All drawing starts with a line. This class will focus on accurate observations of change in the direction of contour. Learn how to achieve the illusion of solidity without the benefit of a full rendering. It’s all about the line, developing accurate appreciative variety and learning from mistakes. You’ll leave with a better understanding of an outline, especially one that represents or bounds the shape or form of something. Students must supply a photo of the subject of their choice.
