Brighten up any room with a luxurious Habotai silk pillow cover, creating abstract patterns as the dyes you brush on are carried along the silk fibers. Start with an open-sided pillow cover (the zipper is already sewn in the middle of the piece!). To finish you will need to sew up the three remaining sides. Cover an existing pillow or purchase a 16”X16” pillow form. All silk supplies are included. Wear old clothes!

Learn basic wire and beading techniques with instructor Karen Snow. You’ll complete two projects: a wrist wrap bracelet on memory wire, and a Dazzler (it’s a keychain, purse jewelry or whatever you want it to be). All basic beads, tools, wire and findings provided. Or, clean out your jewelry box and bring those single earrings, broken & vintage beads that you’ll never wear. We’ll add some modern beads and turn them all into exciting one-of-a-kind creations. Class size limited to 8.

To celebrate McCord’s Lincoln exhibit, the Palos Park Library will host a concert of Civil War music featuring the
“Battlefield Balladeers” whose repertoire consists of the patriotic, sentimental, and comic songs of the period along with minstrel favorites and the melodies of Stephen Foster. Playing a variety of acoustic instruments the performers in museum quality uniforms will bring to life the sounds of the Blue and Gray.
