Summer Batik on Silk with Carolyn Thomas-Davidoff

Saturday, August 24, 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Batik dyeing involves using melted soy wax to create layers of colors and patterns on silk. Students will learn how to prepare their scarf for dyeing and how to layer on color and wax. One scarf will be provided. When the scarf is finished, you will iron most of the wax out using a special technique, but for best results, the scarf should be dry-cleaned to remove the rest of the wax.
