James Swanson is an Oil Painters of America Signature artist, National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society award winner, an American Impressionist Society showing member, and a teaching artist. One of the main things people are attracted to in James’s work is his unique use of color. In this workshop James will explain his method for his creative process, from working with photos to his color recipes for things like skin, snow, and objects. You will learn about the nuances of paint colors like transparent oil colors vs opaque ones, if student and hue colors are okay to use, and how to paint air and depth into your paintings. James will also be sharing his painting design thoughts and palette management demos throughout the workshop. This is a good workshop for the beginning painter to the advanced.
